Brake Repair FAQs
How do I know if my brakes need replacing?
Common signs include squealing or grinding noises when braking, a vibrating pedal, pulling to one side when braking, a soft or spongy pedal, or longer stopping distances than usual. If you notice any of these, have your brakes inspected promptly.
How long do brake pads last?
Brake pad life varies depending on driving style, vehicle type, and pad material — typically between 30,000 and 70,000 km. Brake pads should be checked at every service. We check brake condition during all log book and general services.
Do you replace brake discs (rotors) as well as pads?
Yes. Where rotors are scored, warped, or worn below minimum thickness, we recommend replacement alongside new pads. Fitting new pads to worn rotors results in poor braking and shortened pad life.
Is it safe to drive with worn brakes?
No. Brakes are a primary safety system. If you're experiencing any braking issues, book an inspection as soon as possible. Delaying brake repairs typically makes the problem worse and more expensive to fix.
